Rae Dunn grew up in California and has a Bachelor of Arts Degree Industrial Design and had worked in graphics and fashion design for many years before discovering clay, which has now been her passion for over 15 years. Her inspiration comes from the earth and she finds beauty in simple shapes, natural forms and found objects. Her utilitarian approach to designing ceramics is strongly based on the Japanese aesthetic of wabisabi; the beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete.
